Time is the most precious currency you will ever have. Time goes fast, you will never have enough of it, and you don’t know when it will be gone. So therefore it’s very important that we spend it wisely.
We all want and value money, but we don’t value time. I remember being a little girl rushing to grow up wanting to be grown and in my own apartment. I remember my mom telling me “I don’t want to be grown”. Those words still ring in my ears. It was just yesterday she told me that , now I have a grown adult daughter and she’s gone.
I remember my daughter being a baby, crying all the time. I wanted her to stop being a cry baby and just start walking. Then when she started walking, I wanted her to stay out of stuff. Then I was ready for her to go to school, then college. Now, I wish I could have those times back with my daughter, I would have cherished them more verses wanting her to grow up.
So many people take time for granted. That’s one thing, I don’t do any more as I am aging. Time is a realistic perspective for me. My time is my money and I don’t like to waste it.
I don’t waste my time on people or relationships who don’t add value to me or my life. It just doesn’t make sense to me at my age. I don’t wait for people to do things because if you do they will never be done. In this life, you have
got to put God first then yourself.
I once dated a guy, this was a long distance relationship, 10 hour drive North but I would fly. The flight was 1 hour and 30 minutes. For one year, I was the only one who made the effort to visit. His reason for not visiting me, he was working and finances. I went because, the only way the relationship would grow if you spend time with the person. I wanted it, so I took my time and invested in the situation, I was in at the time.
Two years later, he still didn’t visit and his excuse was the same. I honestly got tired of waisting my time with him. Had, I continued that situation, 2 years would have turned into 5 years, 5 years would have turned to 10 years. It would have been the same old excuse.
But like the old saying goes, people always make time for what they want! That’s true, I believe, only because I’ve lived it. Time also requires sacrifice.
I couldn’t even imagine waisting any more of my time. Making money was the only currency he wanted. Not the most valuable currency which was quality time.
I learned a lot from that situation , but that’s another blog post. However, when the wrong currency is important to you, to me there is no value. It’s essential to have the value of TIME.
Always remember, TIME is the currency of all relationships. There’s is absolutely no way to invest and have a descent relationship with any human being without the concept of time.
