Once upon a time in Cozumel, Mexico.
My first trip out of the country was to Mexico in 2016 with my daughter. I went on a cruise vacation with a few of her college friends and their families. One of the best memories ever. I must say that I was a little nervous at first and I didn’t know what to expect. We ported in Cozumel for one day.
Cozumel is a popular Mexican island in the Caribbean Sea. It was one of the most beautiful places I ever seen. I was truly amazed at its beauty. I love to learn new cultures, meet new people, and try new food.
Whenever, I visit an unknown place, I always like to do a tour, because, I have no knowledge of the place, and I believe if you self-explore you will not learn much history and waist time. So, I always suggest paying for a guided tour regardless of cost; as it’s well worth it.
Once we ported to the island, we were greeted very warmly by the locals of the country. In America, we often hear bad things about Mexico, so I was pleasantly surprised. They had an amazing market once we ported and lots of photo ops. The tour we selected included a visit to a local beach resort, tour of a tequila factory, history of the inner city, and a stop for some quick shopping.
The beaches were beautiful. Our beach resort was one of the most relaxing experiences. The blue water was beyond peaceful and serene. When I think of the place, I mentally have my bags packed.
The food was amazing. There is nothing like authentic Mexican food.
Mexico is also known for its tequila; I am not a big drinker, but I thought the knowledge of the tour was great. Our tour guide was so nice and knowledge.
One of my favorite part of my day was meeting these two parakeets. They were so well trained and was kissing all over me.
It saddened me to see how the locals live, but I can tell they were happy. And happiness is the most important thing in life.
All and all Cozumel was pure relaxation, I had no stress or worries. I would go back and stay a little longer. Good food, Good people, Good Times!
