Person: How old are you?
Me: I’m 44 years old.
Person: You don’t look 44.
Me: What does a person who is 44 years old suppose to look like?
Do you ever get asked, how old are you? I do all the time. I think I have an ASK sign on my forehead. I believe some questions you just don’t ask. Or if you do ask, say do you mind, then proceed to your question.
Because if I looked 44. Which I have no problem with saying. Would the person have said, You look 44 or you look older? Maybe it’s just conversation starter, or maybe it’s a compliment. I don’t know, Either way I don’t ask people certain questions, not unless I say “do you mind if I ask.”
When I tell people, my age they are shocked or say you don’t look 44. I’m like what does a person in their 40’s suppose to look like. I honestly would like to know. Why do people get so caught up on age is beyond me. The only thing age impact is outlooks on life and legal and social accountability and responsibilities.
Honestly, if I looked like what I been through in life I would look 100 years old.
I just choose to take care of myself.
- I don’t smoke.
- I don’t drink.
- I don’t do any drugs.
- I wash my face twice daily. (cleanse, tone, moisturize)
- I try to eat clean and watch what I eat.
- I get my yearly physicals and all recommended tests.
- I go the dentist every 6 months for my cleaning.
- I go to the physician if I am sick and my symptoms last longer than 3 days.
Those are just the basic things I do. There are things I can do better such as exercising regularly and drinking more water(which I have been drinking lots of lately). I’m a work in progress.
I just kindly suggest that you never tell a person you don’t look your age. What are you thoughts comment below? Am I being to sensitive, do you think it’s just a compliment or conversation starters.
