Give People Flowers While They Are Alive

Yesterday I wrote a post about my dear friend, and she stated it made her day, and it was the best gift ever. She also said , “When people write words like that it’s usually at funerals.” She’s right. That’s when most people get their flowers

Going to a funeral is a way of showing respect to the family of the deceased. It’s never about the dead because they are gone. They will never know that you showed up to give your flowers. But often it’s to late. No one wants to get flowers from you when they are dead. Learn to show some love and gratitude, while the person is alive.

Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.~Anne Frank

Regret:(verb) feel sad, repentant, or disappointed over (something that has happened or been done, especially a loss or missed opportunity).

Gratitude: (noun) the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

Far to often however, that’s the only time people get their beautiful flowers. I know regret is stronger than showing gratitude. However, I still can’t comprehend the logic behind it. Why must one feel sad before they are thankful for what they have or enjoy. For example, when a celebrity die and negative things occur their record sales soar.

Same with some people you may know, the only time you get a phone call is when somebody has passed or bad news. There is no joy or pleasure in that. If a person has passed their is nothing much you can say other than give your condolences. Life shouldn’t be that way. We have got to show appreciation and love for people while they are here.

For some reason, we only appreciate things when we no longer have them. That shouldn’t be. I shouldn’t have to loose you to value you. It doesn’t make sense. But neither does never giving people flowers.

No one appreciates the living.

Appreciation: (noun) recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.

Love:(noun) an intense feeling of deep affection.

They say give people their roses while they can still smell them, but people rarely do. The dead receive more flowers than the living because regret is stronger than gratitude & that’s why sometimes you got to buy your own roses.~Fabulous

Can you remember the last time you got flowers? Most importantly do you remember the last time you gave flowers? Maybe you should just give yourself flowers?

Keep in mind flowers don’t have to be actual flowers they are kind words and genuine gestures of love and support. Flowers are self love.

Remember, what you give you always get back 10 fold. Not that, that’s the reason why we give but we all know that God sees and know all hearts.
