Day 2- What Memory In Your Life That You’re Most Grateful For?

Gratitude is the memory of the heart.

Jean Baptiste Massieu

These questions are getting more difficult and we are only on day #2.

I had to go into really deep thought. I can honestly say, I have had a lot of great memories in my life. So many that I don’t know which one to share. I think of my life as a young child, as a teenager, a young woman trying to find her way, and then I think of myself as a mature adult.

However, it’s just one particular memory that stuck out to me the most that I wanted to share, Valentines Day with my Mom!

My mother always showed me unconditional love and understanding and that’s what I am grateful for most.

My mom loved Valentine’s Day. I remember growing up as a child she would always give my brother and I gifts (card, candy, and teddy bear.) That meant so much to me because whenever you think Valentine’s Day, you always associate it with love. And my mother always made her children feel loved.

The irony was my mother was never the lovey dovey, emotional type of person. You could just feel her love. My mom never use to say I love you each day, but she loved Valentine’s Day so much. I never doubted her love, I just wanted to hear it more often.

I am always grateful to know that someone loved me unconditionally. So I cherish those days. I still have so many cards that she has given me. See below.

  1. I am grateful for my mom. She brought me and my siblings to Italy while things were very hard for us financially in Nigeria. She made the sacrifice of leaving her family to find greener pastures. I can only imagine how much you miss your mom so much. I think I will have to start celebrating valentine’s day as she did. I’ll also start celebrating it with my children 💕💕💕💕. I’m loving this challenge. God bless you 💕
